Good news everyone!

First, I made a Patreon!

www.patreon.com/moxie2D

I really want to improve myself while helping others learn by sharing my digital resources and doing things like tutorials and guides. Creation runs in my blood and if there's a way for me to do it as a living then I have to try make it work. This basically is your chance to help me create and share content consistently and comfortably, while I share everything I can to help everyone else get better around me. This means tutorials, videos, brushes, PSDs, any type of digital resource I can give.

The big goal for the Patreon campaign is getting these posters and shirts selling internationally, and if we can hit the $1000 goal it will allow this to start happening extremely soon. For the artists, each pledge tier has heaps of cool stuff that I don't give out too often!

For $1 (that's like a cheeseburger) a month you get
  • Exclusive Patreon art
  • The Patreon activity feed to post and interact with me and all the other patrons
  • Voting on daily drawings
For $3
  • All of the above
  • Step by step process snapshots
  • Line drawings for you to practice colouring yourself
  • All my art from the month in high-resolution (and I work BIG)

For $5

  • All of the above
  • WIP pieces that I usually keep to myself
  • Sketches and art that is NSFW, which I’ve literally never posted before
  • 1x entry in the poster commission raffle (you and your favourite character drawn together, printed and signed!)

For $10

  • All of the above
  • Raw, layered PSDs (so you can see my Photoshop tricks)
  • 1x entry in the poster commission raffle (that's 2 chances at winning!)

I'll also be aiming to do things like tutorials, studies and video process walkthroughs. Also with the added financial stability Patreon can help me with I'll be able to spare more time for commission work so you guys can finally see what you want to see.  I'll even be giving out a free commission once we hit $200!

For those of you who don't know what Patreon is:

It's basically the Fusion Dance equivalent of Twitch Subscriptions and Kickstarter. You can pledge an amount that you specify for each month to help support my art.
Becoming a patron helps me continue doing what I love.

If we can spread the word and hit the end goal, I'll be able to make international shipping for these posters and more happen fast! (I live in Australia)

Second, daily sketch month is back for June!

Vote for the character you want to see on day 1!
www.patreon.com/creation?hid=2…

This was a ton of fun and got a lot of people interested. I basically draw whoever you guys choose in my style each day for the whole month.
You can join in on the voting over at the Patreon feed, as well as get full sized versions and all the other fun stuff that comes with the rewards!
If you missed the last one, check out the compilation from April:

What's good!

So with my University studies finally out of the way. I'm all aboard the interwebs train again! I've finally gotten around to making a proper Facebook page where I'll upload pretty frequently with extra stuff like concept sketches and developmental work which likely won't make it to deviantART.

Come say hi and help me get started!
www.facebook.com/moxie2d

Keep an eye out for heaps of fanart and some more experimentation with digital painting, this year is about to get busayyyyyyyyy.
Commissions will be back up soon too, sorry to everyone I've had to turn down over the last few months!!

Thanks peeps!

I've taken something of a holiday from dA, but I'm back to get to work. Many many apologies.
If it's cool with you guys who have commissioned me and I havent finished/started yet, could you send me a note or an email just in regards to current interest?
I'll try to send one around to everyone too, though I'll have a lot of emails to sift through and I don't want to miss anyone.

Everyone else, look forward to a bunch of drawings! Motivation is sky high.

Hoping to advertise myself a little more over some other sites haha, what does Tumblr even mean!

Anyway if you do have either of them, send me something, somehow (I barely even understand either of them), but I managed to upload a couple of drawings to Tumblr.

Was feeling a bit creative today, so I decided to do a bit of researching about html and how to use it to make your page look cool/different. It's surprisingly easy to do, and looks pretty nice I think.

Anyway, on holidays from Uni for a few weeks, which means a lot more original stuff should be posted, and I can finally get back on top of commissions.

So to all my commissioners, I'm sorry to keep you waiting, but they will get completed, no matter how long it takes!

8 months later, it's probably about time for another update.

Let's see, it's about a month before University starts, which should be pretty good as I'll actually be doing things I enjoy and studying things I enjoy. The course is basically 2D and 3D animation, so I'll be learning a lot more about movement and anatomy, and having a shot at some new programs. Hopefully everything I know already will help.

Again I gotta thank everyone for checking out my stuff, this place is a big source of motivation for me. So thanks for the 800 watches, 50,000 page views and 500,000 deviant views.

As you can tell I've been doing a lot of sketchy, loose Final Fantasy stuff which derives from the inspiration I've been getting from Square Enix and Tetsuya Nomura. I'm trying to find a way to actually lineart and colour these drawings but so far I haven't had much luck, but once I do figure out a decent way, expect some more finalized FF works, and some original characters in a style similar to that.

Dragonball stuff is still in the works, however mainly coming from commissions. They're going pretty well and only take a day or so to do when I get some free time, so I'm keen to keep them up. Because of that, I'm going to upload some commission details and all that to make it more official.
I'm also willing to draw up characters or transformations from the Dragonball series which never appeared, so if you get any cool ideas, comment here.

That's about it, expect commission details soon and I'll update this when it's done.

Thanks again guys.
2d75.

It's been ages since I made a journal, so I figured I'd do one out of pure boredom.

Halfway through the second term of school, the last two weeks have been a tad stressful but I'm trying to take it easy. Of course there's a small window of opportunity to draw these days, but I try to keep it up, especially if I want to get into this sort of field in the future.

Anyway before I get into it, I'd like to thank you all for over 20,000 page views, over 100,000 deviant views, and over 350 watchers! I get a lot of my motivation from everyone here, so I appreciate that.

Okay so I've just had my 18th birthday and I've got a bit of cash to spend. I've decided to invest in a proper Wacom tablet, not sure what size or whatever yet, but I'd like it pretty big. Medium seems good for $500, but there's the large for $700 and that's too tempting. If I do get one, I'll be trying to work with programs like Open Canvas and Corel Painter and head into a smoother style. But I doubt I'll be able to completely ditch the Cell-Shading stuff, it's too much fun, and so is Toriyama's style.

Once I do get the tablet going I'll most likely be doing a lot of original stuff; original characters and scenes, or at least wider range of sources for inspiration, straying away from the Dragonball style for that sort of thing.

As for upcoming works, remember that 2d75.deviantart.com/gallery/#/… finished SSj3 Gohan poster concept) I drew up? Well I've kick-started that back up, and I'm making progress. Once I finish it I'll put it up for sale on Ebay so people can buy it printed!
I'm also willing to do some more conceptual sketches for Dragonball characters that never appeared, like these:

Bardock. :Sketch+PSGraphics: by moxie2D Turles. :Sketch+PSGraphics: by moxie2D Raditz. :Sketch+PSGraphics: by moxie2D
All Forms of Gogeta. by moxie2D All Forms of Vegetto. by moxie2D All Forms of Gotenks. by moxie2D

But keep them within reason, I won't draw a character no one knows/cares about who had no effect on the story and never could. The Vegetto/Gogeta ones were great ideas, that's the sort of stuff I'd like to hear from you.
Those are the only sort of 'requests' I'll take, feel free to make as many suggestions as you like for larger works, but I won't make guarantees.

So yeah, 'till next time, seeya's round.

It's been a little while since my last update huh?

Well school has been in full force for the last 4 or 5 weeks, I've already lost track of how long I've been there. It obviously means I've had much less time to draw, and a lot more time to get distracted, unmotivated, tired and annoyed.

Anyway before I get into the nitty gritty I'd like to thank you all for over 10,000 page views, over 40,000 deviant views, and over 200 watchers! It's basically the praise I get from all of you that keeps me motivated, so I owe that much to you guys.

As you've probably begun to notice I've been trying to work out the way this TabletxLaptop works. It tends to be a bit unresponsive, and it's a bit awkward to get it into the position for the styles to actually work properly on. But I'm tackling it head on and I believe I'm making a bit of progress. I'm yet to try any real drawings on it, I've basically only done concept sketches, but in time I'll be getting into some decent drawings like I do on paper and hopefully some soft cell-shading or even painting for backgrounds, which I'm clearly lacking atm. Anyway for now the concept work is going pretty well, it got SSj3 Teen Gohan from an ugly, rough sketch into a fully inked and rendered piece of character art.

I've still got a heap of stuff that I've planned to do and that I've promised people, and I will get them done, I just don't know when. I was terrible with organising stuff like that before, I'm probably going to be even worse with it now that school is round.

Also, Gohan got featured on Blasting Art. If you havn't checked the site out, I recommend it!
www.blastingart.com/art/galler…
It's not as big as DA, but it's a nice enough place.

Not sure what else to say, I felt as though I had a lot but I can't remember it. Either that, or I didn't really have that much to say lol.

So yeah, 'till next time, seeya's round.

Hey all, this is a long one!

So I've decided I'm going to have to postpone this new style attempt until I get a proper tablet. I've been asking around and everyone who inspires me says they use one, and im pretty sure what they do is impossible with a mouse.

This means I'm going to continue working on Dragonball/Z/GT and Pokemon, but also start to try a few other games and shows styles.
As you know I've already done one featuring The Simpsons kids. Next I'm thinking I'll do something with Bleach characters, most likely Yuruichi or Chad, who are my favourtie characters. I think I'll also do some images featuring Family Guy's cast, Futurama's cast and maybe even attempt South Park's crew, which I think would be a lot of fun.

The Lucario Mind Reader image I drew up was only meant to be a test, but I ended up throwing it into a contest and people seem to like it. With that one I completely skipped the digital lineart step and did my cell shading right onto my sketch, which I don't think I've ever done before. It made it look pretty terrible close up, but it allowed me to show my true drawing style, which is usually pretty flowing like that. I havn't been able to make a lineart using that style successfully so far, which is quite frustrating. I believe having a tablet will make it much easier to do linearts in my natural style.

The last thing I wanna know about is the DeviantART Print Process.
I have had two reqeusts for my Simpsons drawing to be submitted a print. I have done so, well I think I have. What I'm asking is: Is there a time that I have to wait for the print to be approved? I submitted it as a print about 10 hours ago, and I'm not sure if this is out of the ordinary, because it still hasn't registered.

Anyway hopefully that means I'll be making profit soon! Haha, thanks guys.

I really want to try out some new rendering styles, atleast apart from this pretty simple Cell Shading. I wanna work with a more painted, artistic look, and find my own digital style. It was a lot of fun working on Cell Shading, and I will obviously continue to do it, but as soon as I get myself a good tablet my main artworks will probably take a lot more time and effort. What I wanna know is if any of you know of some decent painting programs? Ones made specifically for that type of thing. I obviously have access to Photoshop, but I wouldn't mind trying out something different too.

I have no doubt that I will continue doing Dragonball lineart, and still rendering the odd one here or there that I like. I still have a fair few WIP's to finish aswell, so don't worry about them.

Anyway at the moment I'm away on holidays with TrebleEXE. We've been playing Gamecube; Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Soul Calibur 2. Legendary games. I'll be doing a fair few sketches up here, and I'm thinking of doing May and Misty from the Pokemon series, and like I mentioned earlier, some characters from Avatar (The Last Airbender).

Once again I'm open for lineart suggestions! I need ideas, but I won't be making any promises. I just like to fill in free time.

Alright so I've decided I'm just going to leave the whole art theft thing, maybe if it was an especially good drawing I would feel different, but it's just a head shot of Bardock.
It still annoys me, especially because the copied version has twice the stats that mine does, but maybe thats because his is better, and I'm just jealous.

I think I'd like you all to see it though.
Here are my two Bardock images, obviously very similar because I used the same shading.
I feel this is okay as they're both my drawings.
SSJ Bardock.: 2d75.deviantart.com/art/SSJ-Ba…
Bardock.: 2d75.deviantart.com/art/Bardoc…

And here is his.
Bardock: imran-ryo.deviantart.com/art/B…

I'm pretty sure it's no big deal. It just seems that he knew he was doing the wrong thing because he never notified me of the drawing. If you wanted to ask someone, hey I wanna copy one of your drawings completely, shading and all, you'd be fairly sure you'd get the answer, no.

I tried talking to him and he didn't reply, so I just ended up bitching here.
Sorry for making a big deal about it, but I'm sure that if people were copying your work and not notififying you, you'd get a bit annoyed too.
Anyway, officially over it!

Oh by the way, I've joined a smallish site called Blasting Art, which is kinda like a cross between this and Myspace. It's kinda cool, I'm still learning the ropes as I've only been there a day, but I recommend you check it out if you want a few more people to give you criticism and stuff.
This is my profile, as bare as it is: www.blastingart.com/2D75
There's already problems with a supposably jealous member on there wrongly rating my work, and I'm quite aware that that sounds completely arrogant, but it wasn't me who picked it up, it was the admins. Don't let that turn you off though lol.

Thanks for all the advice and opinions on the poll, sorry I didn't get to you all!

So, much to my suprise today, I came across a heap of my drawings, mostly my wallpaper ones, on a few wallpaper sites like anime.desktopnexus.com

I took it as a good thing, it's actually kinda cool to know that my art is getting out there. People upload wallpapers that they make and people rate them and stuff, pretty similar to here at DA. Thing is, it's also a bit strange because it seems like these people are taking credit for them, or atleast the people viewing them assume that this person who upload them drew them.

Obviously it isn't doing any harm, but I feel like I might have to put a watermark of some sort on my new images, just to make sure people know that I actually did it, and they know where to come to and who to ask if they wanna know something about the picture.
I guess it's just my first experience of "Art Theft".
On a very low scale ofcourse.

Lets see, what else do I have to say...

Holidays are legendary, I just spent a few days up at the beach with TrebleEXE, and we're going back up soon. The Avatar movie was absolutely epic, and I'm also really curious about The Last Airbender movie, which totally got it's name ripped lol. I think I might draw Aang or Sokka soon. Maybe Zuko, I dunno we'll see.

Oh yeah, as for my drawings, Super Saiyan Gohan is killing me. I can't do the hair or the clothes, I'm tempted to just upload what I've done and call it quits.
Cell is very slowly coming along, I really hate the guy but I wanna get him done.
I wanna colour in that trunks pic, I really like it, but I don't think it's gonna happen.
In the way of Pokemon, I'm going to colour the Lucario, then finish my Fighting Team, and somehow put them all together in one image. That would be fun. Might even make a Pokemon Trainer version of me and throw him in there, who knows.

And if anyone has any ideas on what I should draw next, I'm open for ideas. I won't be making any promises, but I could really use some ideas from you guys.

Hey guys,

I probably should have gone into a little more detail about my 'theme' of drawing.
Dragonball will not be my only style, I enjoy lots of different styles and will most likely explore some different stuff. The reason I'm doing Pokemon at the moment is because I feel like something more simple than huge muscular men, as I've just had my wisdom teeth out and I don't feel motivated to do very complex drawings.

I also want to be able to do more than just the simple cell shading that I do. As you've probably noticed I have no skill in backgrounds yet, and that's something I definitely want to be able to do well in the future. Not only this, but I would like to explore other styles of rendering. I plan on testing out Open Canvas for some more realistic painting styles with a tablet, just for variety and effect.

So I'm sorry for not letting my Dragonball fans know, but don't worry, you havn't seen the last of the Z Fighters, there is plenty more to come. I'm on holidays now, so between the small amount of holiday homework I have, I have A LOT of time to spare. Juggling these drawings, guitar, video games and a girlfriend is not exactly easy, but with the amount of time I have I'm pretty sure I can do well in all areas.

As for my new fans of my Pokemon drawings, you don't have to worry either, as with the release of Heart Gold and Soul Silver I should be motivated to do some cool Pokemon drawings too. I'm trying not to let anyone down here, including myself. I have always been into variety, so don't expect the same-old from me every single time.

Thanks for understanding, and I hope to hear from you all soon.
