As much as I like this, I haven't got a whole lot to say about it. It all came together pretty easily, and I really didn't expect to be able to pull off mountains, so I guess I'm proud of getting that kinda right for the first time.
Completely forgot about Korra's armband thing and had to edit it in after the piece was completely finished, so Im surprised it fits in well haha.
EDIT: By popular demand, I changed Aang's eyes to grey. As luck would have it, every reference picture I had of Aang had him with brown eyes, which I guess was a somewhat common mistake on the animators part? Dunno, either way it's fixed!
BTW Guys thanks so much for all the favourites and comments! 3k favs and 26k views in 24 hours! This got way more attention than I expected. Cheers!!
I have this set as my desktop wallpaper, but it just doesn't feel right to exclude Wan since he had the most importance out of any other Avatars besides those two.
He only prevented 10,000 years of darkness and became the first Avatar. I doubt any Avatar between him and Korra could claim such importance.
Wan, became the first Avatar and prevented 10,000 years of darkness. Aang, ended the 100 year war that could have destroyed an entire continent. Korra, prevented another 10,000 years of darkness and possibly became the first Avatar of a new cycle.
Sure, Roku had slight success as he saved a village from a volcano, but he still failed to prevent war. Kyoshi had loads of success, but was merely just problems within her own time. Kuruk was a lazy bugger due to no real conflicts. Not much is known about Yangchen or any Avatar before her and after Wan.
I dunno, despite only having two episodes dedicated to him within a series about another. It felt like he has earned a spot next to the main two.
Check out the Nostalgia Critic's reviews of Korra. He does a great job of comparing Aang's strengths and weaknesses with Korra's. Korra actually has a lot more weaknesses than Aang who was able to easily bend air, fire and water while also getting earth down in one day (while it took Korra 16 years to bend air, or a couple of weeks if you only count when she was being trained by Tenzin)
Indeed she did. And she continued to do only that for the next ten years because those were her only strengths. When she came to things that were her weak areas- air-bending, spiritual acts, being patient, etc- she has only now started to excel in those areas. (Some she's still struggling in) Meanwhile, Aang overcame most of his struggles and recognized all his avatar skills by the age of eleven.
LOL, I want to favourite everything you do, restraining myself at the moment. LOVE these series, old and new! I would never be able to guess that you put Korra's arm band in after you were done! Great job!
